I'm a warm and friendly person with life experience and words at your disposal. I have worked in a number of fields both here and overseas. I've been a librarian, teacher and storyteller; I've worked in retail and offices, and have public speaking experience. I am now pleased to add Celebrant, and this is perhaps the most rewarding of all. I also enjoy reading (of course), travel, squash, knitting, trivia of all kinds and hanging out with Scottie dogs and their people.
I believe that your ceremony should be just that - YOURS. I would be honoured to be part of one of the most memorable and significant days in your lives. l will listen to you and your story, so that together we can craft a ceremony that truly reflects who you are and what you would like, whether it is a short and simple ceremony, or one that is longer or more formal. You can choose from a range of readings, rituals, vows and other options, or I can assist you to write your own. As a former librarian, teacher and storyteller, words are my passion. I will listen to yours and together we can craft a ceremony for you to remember and enjoy. I will take care of all the compulsory and legal parts. Many years ago, when the celebrant program was in its infancy, I was married to Greg, in a park. Having a celebrant enabled us to have a ceremony that was what WE wanted, without having to compromise on the words and the promises we made to each other. We are still happy that we made this choice and look back with fondness on our ceremony. We have just celebrated the 47th anniversary of that day. I am a member of the Australian Marriage Celebrants Association and the Celebrants and Celebrations Network. As a requirement of these associations, I also hold Public Liability insurance and complete yearly professional development to keep my skills and knowledge up to date. I offer an obligation-free first meeting at my home or yours, to get to know you and to work out some options available to you.
